First Trip to the Beach

Image
Today Foster Mom loaded me into the Jeep - just me, no foster sisters - and took me to a place called Bethany Beach. OMGEEE!!!!! What a greyt place! There were dogs - lots of dogs - big dogs & little dogs & barky dogs & friendly dogs & not-so-friendly dogs. They sure looked different than the dogs I lived with at the track and the adoption kennel, but I was friendly and wagged my tail at every single one of them! There were people everywhere; some of them asked Foster Mom questions about me and petted me and scratched my ears - fine by me!! One lady liked me so much that she pulled out her phone & took a photo of me to show to her family. She said she used to have a dog but it died and she really wanted to wait before she got another, but she also called me sweet & gentle and petted me. She lives pretty close to Foster Mom's house so who knows, maybe I'll see her again. And there were children everywhere - in strollers, on skateboards, or just wa

Day 6

Image
Some greyhounds don't sit...but I do! The first thing I did on the long trip from West Virginia to Delaware was sit myself down right behind & between the 2 humans doing the driving so I could see out through the windshield. I had a much better view than the other 4 hounds in the van - see how smart I am? At Foster Mom's house, I sit in my crate when I finish eating.

Day 5

Foster Mom says I'm starting to come out of my shell a little. I'm not real sure what she's talking about because I don't have a shell; shells are for turtles and they're slow!!🐢 I'm a racing greyhound and I'm FAST!!!!! Anyway, she seems happy that I'm starting to wag my tail more and greet people when they come into the house and play with toys more. At night, I sleep in Foster Mom & Dad's room with my two greyhound foster sisters. Last night, I really had to go to the bathroom at 3am. I figured Foster Mom wouldn't be happy about it but when ya gotta go, ya gotta go, right? So I stood at the gate to the hallway & whined until Foster Mom woke up and took me outside. Once I got into the yard, I took care of business in a hurry and then went back upstairs and went right back to sleep. Foster Mom wasn't angry at all; she said I was a good girl for letting her know and not making a mess in the house.   This afternoon, I went

Day 4

Image
My greyhound foster sisters, Janey & Ellie, have been greyt about sharing their beds, their toys, & their yard. Most of the time, I just take care of business or follow them around when Foster Mom takes us outside. But this morning, I got a little frisky and ran with them a for a little bit. Today I also perfected the "bed fail." Pretty good for my first time, right?

Spa Day

Image
Foster Mom put the rugs down in the living room & dining room today.  She says it's because I haven't had any bathroom accidents in the house. She says she thinks I'm "housebroken" but I haven't broken ANYTHING in the house! I still say YAY about the rugs because now I can stop skidding out on the slippery wood floors! This afternoon Foster Mom said I was having a spa day; she made it sound like something REALLY special! But here's a heads up... "spa day" is just a fancy way of saying BATH!!! 🛀 I got my nails trimmed, my ears cleaned, 2 shampoos and a blow dry. Ashley from Go Fetch Mobile Grooming told Foster Mom that I was a very good girl. Of course I was, cuz that's how I roll! I sure do love how I look & smell...but spa days are exhausting! I'm ready for a nap! 💤😴

New Day, New Stuff

Image
I can go up & down both flights of stairs now ALL BY MYSELF! Foster Mom and my 2 greyhound foster sisters helped me yesterday. This morning I said, "Hey, I've got this!" When we took our walk this morning, Foster Mom said I walk on-leash like I've been doing it my whole life. Well DUH, that's because I HAVE been doin' it my whole life, or at least most of it!  I'm workin' on this stuffy toy thing; I think I'm startin' to get the hang of it!

First Day in My Foster Home

Image
Greyhound tracks are flat - what the heck is this?????? There are 2 little brown furry things here - Foster Mom says they're dogs. Nuh-uh, they don't look like any dogs I've ever seen!  I had dinner in my new crate - good eats by the way!🍲 Then I took care of business out in the yard. And then I tried out this bed that was waaayyy better than the shredded newspaper in my old crate at the track! I still have a lot to learn about being a pet but I think I'll get used to this new life really fast!!!! Goodnight!💤😴

Meeting Foster Mom

When Foster Mom met me at the adoption kennel, she said I was  BEE-U-TEE-FUL!!! I think I love her already! 💖

About Me

Image
Hello Bethany Beach! I'm SE's KC Bee Bo, also known as BB. Right now, I'm still living in the adoption kennel in Charleston, WV, waiting to meet my foster mom and make the trip to Delaware to start my retirement. I can't wait til Saturday when I can start learning about living in a house! I'm pretty young for "retirement" since I won't be two years old until June 1st. I raced some but it wasn't really my thing. I think I'll be a whole lot better at playing with my 2 greyhound foster sisters and my 2 dachshund foster sisters! Stay tuned for lots more about me starting this Saturday, the 24th. And if you're in the market for a fast friend, I may be exactly what you're lookin' for! Bye for now! Love, BB
